Recovery Toolkit Series
A holistic, multi-disciplinary service model built on evidence-based practices that enable people with substance use disorders to create individualized recovery toolkits. The Alano Club is the first organization of its kind in the United States to pioneer this comprehensive and innovative approach to recovery in a community-centered environment—all free of charge.
Artists in Recovery
A program designed to highlight the intersection between recovery and creative practices through free workshops, classes, and public events featuring nationally renowned artists in recovery, or connected to the recovery community.
Plates for the People
A series of free, monthly cooking classes for people in or seeking recovery, taught by award winning chefs in recovery. The Alano Club of Portland and Ben’s Friends have partnered to bring the recovery community free, accessible classes where students learn about budgeting, meal planning, and how to cooking delicious, healthy dinners they can repurpose for multiple meals to feed themselves and others.
The Recovery Gym
The Recovery Gym (TRG) is every bit as much stigma-busting initiative as it is next-generation, hybrid recovery organization and functional fitness, strength training and endurance gym.
Alano PeerConnect Recovery Support Services help people realize their strengths and areas for opportunity and connects them with peers for support. Together, we can be each other’s link to sustained recovery.
In the News
“Ever since getting sober, I struggled to engage with my art. After seeing a poster at the Club for the Recovery Art Walk, I decided to take the plunge and sign up. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made since putting down the bottle. I found my inspiration again and haven’t stopped creating since. Opportunities like these to grow in recovery are one of the many reasons I love and cherish our Alano Club!”
