Re-opening Announcement

The Alano Club of Portland is excited to announce that we are once again open! We are happy to welcome our community back into our home for meetings, workshops and the programming we have worked so hard to build over the years. However, due to social distancing and gathering capacity restrictions during Phase One, things will look very different for the time being. Capacity restrictions are in place for each room in the Club, and six feet of distance must be maintained between guests and staff at all times. Masks are required at all times while inside the Alano Club of Portland, and when outside anywhere on our property; this includes the porch and parking lot. Coffee will not be provided by the Club for meetings, or in the office for guests, though you are encouraged to bring your own! Communal food is not permitted within meetings, and communal areas will be closed. Meeting rooms will open fifteen minutes prior to each meeting and close fifteen minutes after the end of each meeting to give our staff ample time to clean and sanitize the Club before and after each meeting takes place. Full protocols and guidelines are posted below and throughout the Club. It is very important that these guidelines be followed in order for the Club to stay open throughout Phase One and move along with the county into Phase Two, whenever that may be. We know that not all groups will feel comfortable meeting during this time, and we are willing to work with each group to ensure their space at the Club is held for them until they do feel it's safe to return to in-person meeting.

We know these changes will take some getting used to, but they are imperative to maintaining the health and safety of our staff and community. When Multnomah County is allowed to enter Phase Two of reopening, we will re-evaluate our policies and expand capacities and services as we are able to within the guidelines set forth by the governor and local, state and national health organizations.

With love and hope,

The Alano Club of Portland Board and Staff

“When I first moved to Portland I didn’t know anyone and I was terrified I might slip up and drink. I knew I had to get connected into the recovery community and the near round-the-clock schedule at the Alano Club of Portland made that possible. It didn’t take long to make close friends and establish a new foundation for my recovery.”
