The Brent Canode Legacy Fund

For more than two decades of dedicated work with the Alano Club of Portland, Brent Canode brought such abundant love, courage, and spirit to everything he did. As a tireless and fearless advocate for those suffering from addiction, Brent’s inspiring leadership shined through in thousands of lives touched—and thousands of lives saved.

With every part of his being, Brent believed.

He believed in the power of humanity, community, and connection to help people in crisis move toward healthier, brighter days ahead. He believed everyone possesses the potential to recover—with the aid of safe, inclusive spaces that breathe acceptance, empowerment, and hope.

Just as Brent was a generous advocate for the recovery community, we will remain strong advocates for the many on the path to lasting recovery and change.

Will you be Alano's next source of hope?

Make your memorial gift today to honor Brent's legacy and offer hope to our neighbors on the journey from crisis to stability.

“Ever since getting sober, I struggled to engage with my art. After seeing a poster at the Club for the Recovery Art Walk, I decided to take the plunge and sign up. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made since putting down the bottle. I found my inspiration again and haven’t stopped creating since. Opportunities like these to grow in recovery are one of the many reasons I love and cherish our Alano Club!”
